In particular, the ethanol plants designed by USPT are intended to minimize costs. Using a combination of new and reconditioned
equipment, initial capital investment needs are drastically reduced. Because the projects are specifically designed to operate
in tandem with existing commercial cattle feedlots, related production costs are lowered as well.
Since the resulting distillers grains are consumed on-site or locally on a daily basis, the end product can be left "wet",
without having to dry the material for transportation or preservation reasons. This is a significant advantage financially,
as the need for expensive drying equipment is eliminated, as well as the need for additional air pollution/emissions equipment
and permits. Transportation expenses and overall utility costs are also decreased.
